Hello welcome to the world of Llaaj. It is a world that is constructed from my every day encounters, things, ordinary things generally, that pierce the every day world and allow a glimpse into a magical realm. These things that i talk about can be discarded objects, something lying in the street, or found under a floor board at work. A drawing from my sketch book or a dream, anything really, the only criteria being that this object or thing acts as portal into another world. I then distill this material into a picture or collage that forms the vague sense of a story or tale. The tales from Apfellandin is one such tale and something i have been working on for a long time.
Not only do i recycle images but i also try to use mostly reclaimed materials to create my pieces.
